Ernst and Willy Niegeloh has grown into one of the most important German manufacturers of manicure and pedicure implements.

1990

Niegeloh begins using a new process improving the precision of scissors blanks while saving energy.This technological breakthrough cuts scissors blanks out from steel coils and shapes them by using new types of dies without any additional heat treatment. This technology is also applied to the stainless steel rust-free topInox® production.

1986

The company is now managed by both Willi Jr., who is in charge of production, and Ernst-Wilhelm, who is in charge of marketing and sales, for many years. They decide to enlarge into a new 23,680 sq ft facility located at 330 Mangenberger Strasse. Nail scissors under the model of 44470 were the best selling item of 1986, manufacturing 252,000 in total.

Cuticle nippers, nail nippers, nail files, tweezers and foot care implements are introduced in 1960 completing Niegeloh’s personal care line. Since then, these products are presented annually at the Frankfurt Tradeshows.

Since 1954, the brothers two sons, Willi Jr. and Ernst-Wilhelm, are working in the factory along with 20 other employees.

Niegeloh purchases the first transportation vehicle – a DKW station wagon.

1936

On January 1st, two brothers, named Ernst and Willy Niegeloh, issue the opening balance sheet for their scissors’ factory. 1940, on April 26th, the factory is entered into the trade register of the city of Solingen under A 3682.
